Youth
Advisory Board Reaches the Community
In August of 2006, Huck House created a
Youth Advisory Board to expand the awareness of teens
needing support. The role of the youth board will be to
establish a voice for youth while analyzing critical
issues dealing with teenagers. Since then, the group
has
worked on projects that educate the community on
teen/family issues, but also has been a huge factor in the
directions that the Huck House Community Education
Program moves toward. One of the main issues the group
will focus on is runaway prevention and how to disperse
that information to schools and communities.
The Huck House Youth Advisory Board
currently includes seventeen members ranging in ages from 12
to 22. The Board is always looking for additional,
dedicated members. The youth board meets the third
Wednesday of every month from 6pm to 715.
