| Turn Around
Columbus Youth
Huckleberry
House is hosting our 10th Annual Turn Around
Columbus Youth Award and Recognition Banquet on
April 5, 2007.
Turn Around
Columbus Youth (TACY) is an evening dedicated to
recognizing successes, inspiring new hopes and
encouraging greater dreams. Our event is all
about the kids. This is our way of
honoring youth who are dealing with some of
life's worst difficulties. Expect to be touched
by their stories. These are kids who were
on the verge of failing life, in general, and
have literally turned their lives around. After
all, they deserve to be acknowledged for the
hard work they have done, despite the obstacles
they face.
Kids between the
ages of 12 and 18 who are involved with any
youth serving agency in Franklin County can be
nominated and recognized. Teachers, counselors
and any adult involved with youth, can show
appreciation for the committed effort the kids
have made. The event starts at 6pm with dinner
and a presentation of awards. It is held at
Confluence Park on West Spring Street.

William R.
McNamara Scholarship Fund
The William R. McNamara Scholarship Fund was
established by Huckleberry House to recognize the
immense contributions Bill McNamara made to the
community, the agency and the young people and
families served by Huck House. The fund awards two
new scholarships each year at the annual Turn Around
Columbus Awards & Recognition Banquet.

Green Light
Project
The Green Light
Project is now a national awareness campaign coinciding with National Runaway
Prevention Month in November. We want to raise the awareness of
teen runaways and the issues surrounding these situations. The
goals are to promote safety for teens and to educate people.
Because without the support of adults, teenagers have the odds stacked
against them.
For the month of
November, Huckleberry House distributes green light bulbs and asks
everyone to light their porches. By participating in this small
gesture, you are showing teens that Columbus cares about them and
wants them to be safe.
Our goal
for 2007, is to distribute at least 15,000 light bulbs.
