We believe in supporting families after the
initial crisis is over. In the Family Support
Program, young people and families can get the help
they need in different ways:
Counseling:
In our work with young people and families in
crisis, we know that it's important for families to
get help fast. The Counseling Program
provides youth and families with an experienced,
skilled counselor. This counselor will work
with families to help them make long term changes.
Youth and families attending counseling sessions
can expect a safe and confidential environment.
Our counselors are Masters' level clinicians, and
use practical, focused approaches to solving the problems
young people and families have. Access to
counseling is flexible and made to fit real-life
schedules. Appointments can be made during the
day or evening, and without regard for ability to
pay. You don't need to have
used other Huck House programs to see our
counselors.
Just call (614)294-5553, and ask to speak to
someone in the counseling program.
Home-based Intervention:
The Case Management Program supports families and teens by
helping with behavior problems and setting limits.
We also provide referrals to other agencies and
safety planning. Our
workers know that often families and teens have many
strengths that can see them through the difficult
transitions they are facing. Our role is to
help them use the positive skills they have to solve
problems and thrive.
